This farmed product is originally from Japan, and each cleaned & gutted piece is between 900-1800g. This fish is quite popular in Japan, with its red color being a symbol of good luck. For this reason, this fish is typically enjoyed during celebrations, such as New Year's Eve. The deep waters that the Shinkaimadai inhibits indicates higher water pressure, creating denser flesh, and reduces stress, making the fish as healthy as possible. Further, due to the depth of these fish within the water, this limits ultraviolet rays, which enhances tits vibrant red color. This fish is killed using the Ikejime style, which is a method of preparation for Japanese fish that paralyses the fish and drains their blood, which maintains the fish's flavor and texture. This technique is used to maximize K-Value, which enhances the time in which the fish can remain fresh, along with increased Umami.
This fish is high in protein and is easy to digest. It is also a lean fish, making it low in fat and calories, along with a broad range of nutrients that are ideal for improving ones metabolic rate.
