About the Product
This farmed product is originally from Japan, and each whole piece is 900-1800g. Shima Aji is a fish that can be found all around the Atlantic Ocean. The taste of this fish is similar to mackerel; it is delicate and buttery, with a low amount of fat. Shima Aji is normally served as nigiri or sashimi. This fish is killed using the Ikejime style, which is a method of preparation for Japanese fish that paralyses the fish and drains their blood, which maintains the fish's flavor and texture. This technique is used to maximize K-Value, which enhances the time in which the fish can remain fresh, along with increased Umami.
Due to its low fat content, this fish is low in calories and is high in protein, ideal for a healthy metabolic rate.
