Pate aux Pommes de Terre

A French specialty. Flavorful potatoes encapsulated in pastry. 

You can buy these ingredients directly from Fresh Express:


  • 1.5kg Agria Potato
  • 2 Puff pastry ring of 26cm diameter
  • 1 Egg
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 Onion
  • 10g Fresh thyme
  • 250g Sour cream


  1. Peel the potato and slice it 2mm thick
  2. Place the potato into a bowl, and season it with salt and pepper
  3. Mix and keep for 15 minutes
  4. Remove the potato from the water
  5. Add chopped onion, garlic and thyme in the potato
  6. Place the potato in the middle of the puff pastry ring
  7. Cover it with another puff pastry ring
  8. Brush the pipe with egg wash and make a design with a small knife
  9. Cook at 170° for 1 hour
  10. With the knife, cut the lid of the dough
  11. Add sour cream and mix with the potato
  12. Serve it hot
