Ingredients

  1. Rib eye steak 550g
  2. Garlic 25g
  3. Rosemary 10g
  4. Salt flakes to taste
  5. Pepper to taste
  6. Thyme 10g
  7. Salted butter 25g
  8. Extra virgin olive oil 10ml

Method

  1. On a cutting board, pat the rib eye dry with paper towels and let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes
  2. Generously season all slides of the rib eye steak with salt and pepper
  3. With an oven-safe stainless steel or cast iron skillet, heat at medium, add the grape seed olive oil
  4. Once the oil begins to smoke, add the rib eye steak to the pan
  5. Cook without moving for 2-3 minutes, until the crust has formed
  6. Tilt the pan and spoon the butter continuously over the steak for 2-3 minutes
  7. Transfer the pan to the oven for 7-10 minutes until your preferred doneness is achieved.
