Ingredients
- Rib eye steak 550g
- Garlic 25g
- Rosemary 10g
- Salt flakes to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Thyme 10g
- Salted butter 25g
- Extra virgin olive oil 10ml
Method
- On a cutting board, pat the rib eye dry with paper towels and let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes
- Generously season all slides of the rib eye steak with salt and pepper
- With an oven-safe stainless steel or cast iron skillet, heat at medium, add the grape seed olive oil
- Once the oil begins to smoke, add the rib eye steak to the pan
- Cook without moving for 2-3 minutes, until the crust has formed
- Tilt the pan and spoon the butter continuously over the steak for 2-3 minutes
- Transfer the pan to the oven for 7-10 minutes until your preferred doneness is achieved.
