This product is originally from Cyprus, by Dodoni, and each piece is 225g. The weight shown in the image is the average size for this product, however, prices will be adjusted based on actual weight. Halloumi cheese is traditionally made out of the milk of the Mouflon breed of sheep, but due to high demand around the world for it, it is now produced in factories using goat's and ewe's milk, with cow's milk somtimes mixed into it. It is popular for its impressive ability to maintain its shape when used in cooking.
Halloumi cheese has a bouncy and squeaky texture, accompanied by a salty and tangy burst of flavor. When cooked, the milk sugars that lie within the cheese caramelize on the outside, which conveys a similar taste to that of sweet onion.
How to Enjoy
This cheese is best served with some fresh fruit, like figs and melons, or with some vegetables. It can also be fried as a canape or barbecued.
